100 Kincardine homes under threat from rising tides, report says
24 JanuaryMore than 100 homes in Kincardine could be flooded within the next two decades, according to a new shock report to Fife Council.
A large part of Kincardine could be under water, and in danger of being overwhelmed by sea level rises due to climate change and coastal erosion the council heard during discussions on a new Fife Shoreline Management Plan (SMP).
The plan identified Kincardine as an area with the "highest number of properties at risk of tidal inundation in the first epoch, 0-20 years".
It said 103 properties were at risk in the village - but that beefing up sea defences and guarding against floods would be costly for the council and homeowners.
